NMOBs are they or are they not LSD? www,stuff.co.nz
Stuff article a bit misleading I think
quote "Police figures show that more than 12,000 tabs of LSD and other drugs have been seized this year, compared with about 700 for the same period last year. Many of them are thought to be NBOMe.
Detective Inspector Stuart Mills, co-ordinator of police's drug intelligence bureau, said police had major concerns about the drug and its use in the community.
He warned NBOMe's "extreme newness" meant many people would not know what they were taking, which could have lethal consequences. " unquote
again Quote "The NBOMe group is covered by the Psychoactive Substances Act and people supplying the synthetic drug face a maximum prison sentence of two years.
However, officials say it should be governed by tougher legislation.
Environmental Science and Research (ESR) forensic general manager Dr Keith Bedford said the law should treat the NBOMe family like LSD - a Class A controlled drug along with heroin, cocaine and methamphetamine (P).

Motorcycle crash MC members injured one rider confirmned death
Article on NZ Herald online, picture detailing biker grief
Quote "
Members of Mt Maunganui's Greasy Dogs motorcycle club were at the scene. The club has historical links to the Tribesmen Motorcycle Club and has clashed with the Filthy Few. About 3pm yesterday, a Tribesmen member told Facebook friends he would be getting to Auckland late because of a terrible accident.
Earlier, he had said he was looking forward to a "mean as, yellow 'n' gold day" as the group was believed to be preparing for a "poker run".

Major Police Operation on the Mongrel Mob
Seven patched Mongrel Mob members and 15 others have been arrested today after an eight-month police operation targeting the gang's drug activity.
This morning police executed simultaneous search warrants on the addresses of Mongrel Mob members in Blenheim, Picton, Nelson, Hokitika, Christchurch, Lower Hutt, Auckland, Havelock North and Palmerston North.
The warrants covered six police districts and involved about 100 police and drugs dogs, police said.
The operation focused primarily on alleged serious drug offending by Mongrel Mob members across Marlborough.
I say "At a Nelson address, a large quantity of plastic bags with Mongrel Mob insignia printed on them, that police said were commonly used for the distribution of methamphetamine, were recovered."is an absolute stupid move it would have indicated to the police it was them commiting the crimes, not a clever way to keep it discreet

The GCSB Bill has passed its third reading in Parliament tonight, by 61 votes to 59.
Prime Minister and Minister Responsible for GCSB John Key welcomed the passing of the legislation.
"Despite ill-informed claims to the contrary, nothing in this legislation allows for wholesale spying on New Zealanders. It actually tightens, not widens, the existing regime,'' Mr Key said.

Taranaki Rebels sentenced for 2011 operation by New Zealand Police
Taranaki Rebels sentenced for 2011 operation by New Zealand Police. A number of people were charged as a result of this operation. Sentencing judge Justice Stephen Kos labelled the Rebels' drug-dealing as a Mickey Mouse outfit.
The judge while sentencing also gave the following comment
It was somewhat "grandiose" to describe Dewar as the president of the Taranaki chapter of the Rebels, a gang that had just three members and one motorcycle among them, the judge said.
